No. Kumo works 100% on your device. Your photos and videos never leave your iPhone, and we don't collect any data.
Every face is covered automatically by default — you don't have to do anything. To keep someone visible, tap their face to reveal it (tap again to cover it back). New faces are always covered, so no one is exposed by accident.
Tap Stickers to open the sticker tray, pick one, then tap a face to apply it — you can give each face a different sticker. The cloud is free; the other stickers are unlocked with Kumo Premium. Long-press a sticker to add it to your favourites.
Detection works best on clear, front-facing faces. If a face is missed (turned away, far in the background), tap Add a face and draw a box over it — it will be masked like the others.
These are part of Kumo Premium, a yearly subscription. Tap the crown icon at the top right to subscribe.
Open the Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → Kumo. You can cancel anytime; Premium stays active until the end of the paid period.
Open the Premium screen (crown icon) and tap Restore Purchases.
Exports are flattened and irreversible — masked faces are permanently part of the image, and original metadata (EXIF/GPS) is removed on export.
